Every single registered domain has no less than two Name Server records that show where it is hosted i.e. by using these records you direct your domain name to the servers of a particular hosting provider. This way, you have both your site and your emails managed by the exact same company. On the lower level of the Domain Name System (DNS), on the other hand, there are a number of other records, for example A and MX. The first one reveals which server handles the site for a given Internet domain and is always an IP address (123.123.123.123), while the second one shows which server manages the emails and is always an alphanumeric string (mx1.domain.com). For instance, any time you enter a domain address in your browser, your request is forwarded through the global DNS system to the company whose NS records the domain uses and from there you could be sent to the servers of another service provider provided you have set an IP address of the latter as an A record for your domain address. Having different records for the website and the emails means that you could have your site and your e-mails with 2 different companies if you'd like.

Custom MX and A Records in Shared Web Hosting

The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, that comes with each and every shared web hosting which we offer you, will enable you to see, change and set up A and MX records for every domain name or subdomain inside your account. Using the DNS Records section, you'll be able to view a list of all hosts in the account in alphabetical order with their corresponding records, so any update won't take you more than a few mouse clicks. Creating new records is as easy if, for example, you want to use the email services of a different service provider and they ask you to set up more MX records than the default two. You can even set the priority for each MX record by setting different latency. To put it differently, when your e-mails are delivered, the sending server will contact the record with the smallest latency first and if the connection times out, it'll contact the next one. Through our sophisticated tool, you'll be able to control the records of your domain names and subdomains effortlessly even when you have no previous experience with such matters.
